UGG
In the late 1970s, Brian Smith was a diligent economics student living in Australia, with a great passion for surfing, music, and meditation. One day, after listening to a very introspective song on the radio, he felt the need to change his life, so he left his corporate job and moved to California. Upon arriving in Southern California, he was captivated by the sense of freedom and nonconformity of the local surfing community. He realized that his surfer friends were not wearing sheepskin boots like Australians did after morning surf sessions in the cold temperatures. It was from this observation that he was inspired to create the UGG brand. Brian worked tirelessly to turn his bold and innovative idea into reality. During his initial promotional trips, he personally visited over 150 stores in Southern California, but received only rejections: his product could never compete with flip-flops nor be paired with surf shorts. But Brian did not give up and decided to offer his boots by wearing them and using the back of his van as an impromptu sales point at Malibu Point beach. With a simple and direct approach and the help of word-of-mouth, news spread quickly, and people lined up under the scorching California sun to purchase the innovative footwear. Brian's boots soon became popular, to the point that even store owners and large retailers were eager to put them on their shelves. Within ten years, Hollywood took notice of the trend and UGG products began appearing worn by celebrities on red carpets and in paparazzi photos. The brand became so popular that Brian Smith began looking for a company to partner with to accelerate its growth. In 1995, he connected with the California-based company Deckers Brands, which spread the UGG brand globally with the same focus on quality and craftsmanship that had distinguished it from the beginning. UGG is committed to creating products and experiences that last, combining traditional craftsmanship quality with a modern approach, to meet the needs of consumers around the world. We have always been committed to innovation, offering new models with bold designs, increasingly versatile products, original materials, and much more. The story of our origins still inspires us today, reflecting our values of creativity, originality, and rebellious spirit.
