Valsport

Valsport was born in Padua in 1920 from an idea by Antonio Valle, a young man full of enthusiasm and inventiveness who decided, at the age of eighteen, to start a company for the production of footwear and sports equipment. Valle's foresight leads him to combine attention to detail and craftsmanship of the product with careful research from a technical and aesthetic point of view. It is the key to success: in just a few years Valsport became one of the first manufacturers of sports footwear at a national level. In 1960, Rome hosted the Games of the XVII Olympiad in an edition that proved to be extraordinary for the performances of athletes who would remain immortal in the history of sport: Wilma Rudolph, Al Oerter, Abebe Bikita and the Italian Livio Berruti. On 3 September 1960, our sprinter won the Olympic gold in the 200 meters with a time of 20"5, equaling the world record in the specialty. As he crosses the finish line, under the eyes of an admiring country, Livio Berruti wears Valsport spiked shoes which have already stood out for their style and quality since then. Berruti himself would say, in an interview a few years later, “I had the habit of wearing white shoes. For the final I bought the Valsports.” In the following years, Valsport continued its rise, becoming the reference brand for sports and competitive activities such as football, boxing, Formula One, athletics, cycling... In 2016 Valsport returns home and we start again from the great classics that have made our history: the brand's historic models, Tournament, Olimpia, Davis, are reborn, reinterpreted to become protagonists of every type of outfit and occasion. The collection is enriched over the years with new styles and new models, which we rigorously create in Italian artisan workshops using first choice materials. The common thread that runs through one hundred years of Valsport history is the lesson transmitted by Antonio Valle, and today carried forward by his son Guido: attention to detail, craftsmanship, research from a technical point of view as the key to a product ready to win every challenge ! To celebrate one hundred years of Valsport, in 2020, we created Tournament Centenario: 1920 numbered, authentic and unique examples handmade after careful research and selection of the best Italian raw materials. What better way to remember our past while always keeping an eye on the future?
