Tagliatore
It all begins in Martina Franca, Puglia, in the workshop of Vito Lerario, known as Tagliatore (The Cutter) because he cut and sewed shoe uppers. This nickname was inherited by his son Franco, who decided to dedicate himself to tailoring instead. In 1994, he opened the company Confezioni Lerario, and in 1999, he launched the brand Tagliatore. A family story rooted in authenticity and Italian craftsmanship. A family business now in its second generation, based on an entirely Italian production line. Among the four children, each with a key role within the company, Pino Lerario is the creative mind and spokesperson for the brand, meticulously overseeing all design and production phases. "My grandfather made shoes. Then we moved on to suits with the same taste, with that obsessive attention to design, know-how, testing, and cutting. Ours is a family story; we have grown and evolved until we launched our brand worldwide. Today, we are a company with a tailoring vocation, and over the years, there has been a great evolution in the brand. One of the most beautiful moments of my career was undoubtedly meeting Nino Cerruti, not only a great entrepreneur but one of the best fabric creators, who for decades has represented elegance and style on an international level. In Puglia, we find ourselves working in a place somewhat distant from the conventional fashion hubs, in an area where a center with a long tradition has developed. In this territory, during every creative process, one is inspired by the place and its colors, the scents and sensations of the land. The landscape is an important component, not to mention the people: there is an innate elegance in our culture, a simple formality that everyone follows even just for a short walk outdoors. We want to convey these emotions and this atmosphere in our clothing. In our men's collections, we have revolutionized the world of the jacket, with the introduction of wide lapels and harmonious slim fits so that everything aligns with the male body, also playing with sophisticated color combinations with the innovation of brick, red, and lobster red: touches capable of enlivening the fabric." - Pino Lerario.
