A family story in the heart of Venice. It all started with a father and son who combined their passion for design with the famous shoemaking heritage of the Venice outskirts. GABRIELE CONTE is the heart of the brand. He boasts 40 years of experience in the footwear industry. Before creating Poesie Veneziane, he collaborated on the design and development of collections for a myriad of Italian manufacturers and international brands, for whom he also served as a sales representative at his historic showroom. Today, his showroom is still active and is located within the Poesie Veneziane Studio and Showroom, situated in the heart of Italy's most famous shoemaking district, the Riviera del Brenta, where the heritage is all about footwear. A life dedicated to shoes, in a continuous journey throughout the "Boot" (Italy), among manufacturers and boutique clients, in addition to a constant presence at Milan Fashion Week and Pitti. Since 2012, his mission has been to bring all his expertise together in Poesie Veneziane, to finally realize his dream of being an entrepreneur and designer. SEBASTIANO CONTE grew up among shoes and clothes. He spent most of his afternoons after school, from a young age until his late teens, in his mother’s artisanal sweater factory. Most of its production was aimed at Moncler & Benetton Group. Here he learned the production processes behind their creation and often contributed where needed. Shortly after, he began traveling with Gabriele to numerous shoe factories across Italy, following him on his design trips and meeting clients from independent boutiques, learning about and becoming passionate about this unique and complex product that is shoes. Before joining Poesie Veneziane, he worked and studied in London for 6 years. There, he earned a Master’s degree in Creativity, Design, and Innovation at the Bayes Business School in London (formerly known as Cass Business School) and took numerous Fashion Design courses at Central Saint Martins. He combines experience in various creative forms (painting, photography) with computer skills.
