Founded nearly fifty years ago, the company is one of the longest-standing in Umbria in the field of Italian cashmere knitwear. The Umbrian Cashmere District is the result of the excellence of a textile tradition that throughout Umbria, and particularly in the province of Perugia, has very ancient origins: from medieval tapestry production, through the refined art of embroidery, widespread throughout the region in many variations, to the more recent processing of fine yarns, Umbria has gathered ancient knowledge over time, reworking it based on its artisanal experience, to finally put it at the service of a noble product. Cashmere is a very fine textile fiber, obtained from the wool of a particular type of goat that inhabits the highlands of Central Asia, already used by local shepherds to create fabrics capable of protecting against the cold of the highland winters. Mainly sourced from Tibet, the raw fiber takes its name from the Kashmir region, straddling India, Pakistan, and China, where it was processed: a warm, soft, enveloping, and durable fiber that has continued to represent a product of great allure and prestige worldwide. The manual combing of the animal's coat during the molting season, typically in spring, allows the collection of the primary fiber, which is then spun into yarn and subsequently processed into finished products. Italy is the world's leading processor of high-quality Cashmere, and Umbria is its most important district: a well-established experience ranging from the selection of the cashmere fleece to its transformation into yarn, following a solid blend of tradition and innovation.
