The Keep Originals brand is the culmination of a family story that began in the post-war period, when Giuseppe Caretto founded his first small workshop in Salento at just 17 years old. Hand-cut leathers, few but precious orders, and artisanal mastery were used to create footwear tailored to the local clientele. In the 1980s, his son Antonio followed in his father's footsteps. He worked alongside him and inherited his distinctive traits: passion, attention to detail, and a forward-looking vision. Thus, Keep Originals was born: a perfect blend of tradition and innovation, classicism and experimentation. A brand created to transcend national boundaries and conquer new horizons. In line with the latest trends of the international market, Keep Originals models reinterpret vintage styles with new patterns. The worn and distressed effect is integrated into a refurbished, polished mood, more elegant and refined, achieved through artisanal workmanship and special techniques. The leathers used in Keep Originals footwear are processed in the finest Tuscan tanneries, through artisanal methods and natural processes that guarantee maximum fit, tactile sensations, and authentic scents. Precious leathers, such as vegetable-tanned cowhides and calves, are treated with systems passed down through the centuries since Roman times and revisited today thanks to technological innovation. The stitching, where present, is done by hand, as in the past, using traditional methods like Blake stitching, which joins the upper and sole into a single unit.
