Founded in Bologna in 1927 by Aldo Furlanetto, the company looks to its ninetieth anniversary while keeping its roots alive. Always faithful to the values of craftsmanship, beauty, and refined design. The company produces leather handbags, footwear, and small leather goods for both women and men. Thanks to significant prestigious agreements in the textile, eyewear, and watch sectors, Furla has expanded its offerings to new product categories and strengthened its brand positioning as a lifestyle brand. As an advocate in the world of a culture of quality, of creativity that plays with colors and transmits positivity. Every Furla bag, shoe, or accessory, every men's and women's collection expresses an authentic and contemporary Italian lifestyle. 1970-1980: Carlo, Paolo, and Giovanna Furlanetto join their father Aldo in managing the company. The first collection of bags and accessories under the Furla brand is born. The international expansion strategy of the brand also begins. During these years, the distribution network covers Italy, France, and the United States. 1990: Furla lands in Japan. Meanwhile, branches open in Spain, UK, Germany, Hong Kong-China, and China. 1999: The company establishes the "Furla for Art" award, aiming to support young Italian artists and becomes the excellence award in contemporary art. 2007-2010: In 2007, Furla celebrates its eightieth anniversary. In 2008, the Furla Foundation is born. During this period, the company also debuts in e-commerce. Its online boutique represents a further strengthening of the distribution network. 2011-2013: The company initiates a plan for global expansion and renovation: strengthening of the international retail network, greater flexibility throughout the supply chain, from production to distribution, and the enhancement of the product research and development sector. The flagship store in Milan Duomo and the Venetian mono-brand in Macao open, elegant examples of the new concept store created by Furla. 2015: In the heart of Milan, the Italian fashion capital, Palazzo Furla is inaugurated. The company continues to be family-owned but with a solid managerial structure. The management team combines pragmatism and visionary capabilities, and the results are not long in coming. Today, Furla has over 1,600 employees, 90% of whom are women from 100 different nationalities, with an average age of 36. Today, every single Furla piece tells the value of impeccable craftsmanship techniques, meticulous finishes and stitching, carefully selected materials.
