CONVERSE
Converse is an American company that has been producing footwear since the early 20th century. It was founded by Marquis Mills Converse in 1908 in Malden, Massachusetts (USA). The company's most famous product is the Converse All Star model, conceived in 1923 by Chuck Taylor, a professional basketball player, to improve his game. In the 1960s, 70s, and 80s, they became popular in the music world, with many rock musicians and singers wearing these shoes, and over the years, they also became widespread among the general public. In 1985, Converse created a new basketball shoe model: The Weapon, produced in many color combinations to match team uniforms, such as yellow/purple for Converse-sponsored NBA franchise Los Angeles Lakers players, and available in both "high-top" and "low-cut" versions. Since the 1990s, they have become very popular again, also thanks to the company's decision to produce numerous variations on the theme, changing colors, materials, and the shape of the original shoes. In 1992, production was moved to Asia, losing the "Made in USA" label. This opened the door to imitations and was one of the reasons that led the company to bankruptcy in 2001. In 2003, after Nike acquired the company, the new edition was released: The Loaded Weapon. In Italy, Converse sponsored the Auxilium Pallacanestro Torino basketball team. Today, the company is committed to creating new street style classics. What you wear represents street culture, sports, and creativity, and we have reinterpreted it with you from the beginning. When you wear Converse products, you bring to life a culture inspired by authentic street style simply by expressing your personality. Whether worn by a 1970s basketball star depicted in history books or worn by you in your free time, the Chuck sneaker has always been synonymous with a trendy look.
