Aspesi
ASPESI is an Italian clothing brand known for its minimalist, sophisticated, and timeless designs. Established in 1969 by Alberto Aspesi as a shirt manufacturer, over the years it has become a benchmark in ready-to-wear fashion for both men and women. In an era when the leading fashion models were Parisian haute couture houses, the Italian prêt-à-porter industry decided to focus on material research, a new concept of elegance, and wearability, suggesting new horizons to explore. ASPESI evolved within this context, standing out for its strong emphasis not only on significant aesthetic value but also on wearability and functionality. By the late 1970s, ASPESI expanded its line, creating collections for both men and women and establishing collaborations with prominent designers such as Franco Moschino, Walter Albini, and Marco Zanini. Since November 2020, Lawrence Steele has been the creative director. ASPESI was the first to introduce the down jacket – previously considered purely technical attire – as part of a more urban and versatile wardrobe. The idea originated from a conversation between Alberto Aspesi and Franco Moschino, who gave the jacket its name. ASPESI's success is linked to the combination of iconic, timeless garments and the constant search for the most innovative and unexpected materials. Meticulous and continuous fabric research has always been at the core of ASPESI's essence. The brand's consistently unconventional and innovative approach to the product is evident in various artistic collaborations, starting from ASPESI's advertising campaigns, which have always chosen photographers capable of capturing and interpreting the brand's spirit (Peter Lindbergh, Robert Frank, Oliviero Toscani, Paolo Roversi). The love for art remains one of the brand's fundamental values, from photographic images to architecture: ASPESI stores have always been characterized by refined and niche furnishings. Today, ASPESI remains faithful to its minimalist, sophisticated, and timeless style approach.
