ALBERTA FERRETTI

Alberta Ferretti began her fashion career in 1968 at the age of 18 by opening a fashion boutique named Jolly in Cattolica, Italy. She launched her eponymous label in 1974 and, after garnering a cult following through her boutique, expanded her reach to Milan in the early 1980s by founding her first showroom at Palazzo Donizetti and making her debut at Milan Fashion Week. In 1984, the designer launched Ferretti Jeans Philosophy, later renamed Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti in 1987, as her first diffusion label aimed at the youth market, with artistic direction now entrusted to the young designer Lorenzo Serafini. Over the years, the designer has also ventured into bridal wear with Alberta Ferretti Forever, children's clothing with Alberta Ferretti Girls, and sportswear through Alberta Ferretti Tech. In 2009, the designer also introduced her first eponymous fragrance. The Ferretti style boasts an international following of customers devoted to her ultra-feminine and ethereal dresses, a style regularly worn by personalities and celebrities worldwide. In 2018, she designed new uniforms for the airline company Alitalia. In October of the same year, she received the America award from the Italy-USA Foundation, which she accepted in Rome at the Chamber of Deputies. Always sensitive to ecological issues, in 2019 she was awarded the ""Ethical & Sustainable Award"" in Monte Carlo during Monte Carlo Fashion Week. This award is a recognition of her commitment and contribution to reminding us of the importance of loving and protecting our planet, playing an active role in promoting sustainability as a business practice.
